Residential Comfort with Open Cell

Our standard open cell spray foam provides an excellent air barrier and sound dampening for a more comfortable and energy-efficient home. It's a smart choice for reducing utility costs and improving indoor air quality.

Open Cell Spray Foam Insulation

Open-cell spray foam insulation is a lightweight, soft foam that expands significantly upon application and has a spongy texture once cured. Unlike closed-cell spray foam, it has an open-cell structure that allows air to fill the tiny pockets inside the foam. This makes it less dense but excellent at soundproofing and filling large gaps. It’s typically used in interior walls, attics, and ceilings where air and sound control are key priorities.

What Makes It Valuable: 3 Core Benefits

The Process

The installation process of open-cell spray foam insulation is a critical operation that requires expertise, precision, and the right equipment. Unlike traditional insulation materials, spray foam involves chemical reactions, rapid expansion, and direct application to structural components. Because of these complexities, it must be installed by trained professionals who understand both the material and the environmental factors that can affect performance. When applied correctly, the process ensures not only effective insulation but also improved air quality, noise control, and energy efficiency throughout the building.

  • Preparation – Technicians protect the surrounding area with covers and wear safety gear due to the chemical nature of the foam.

  • Application – Two liquid components (isocyanate and polyol resin) are combined through a spray gun and applied to the surface. The foam expands on contact.

  • Curing and Sealing – The foam quickly hardens, filling gaps, sealing cracks, and bonding to the surface tightly.

  • Finishing Touches – Excess foam is trimmed off, and the area is cleaned for a professional finish.
